1.       Clothing. Your clothing is VERY important, take the time to choose outfits that will compliment you and that will make you stand out from the scenery.  If your engagement pictures are in the desert, stay away from neutral or soft colors that can make you blend in with your background.  You want colors that will make you pop! Another way to stand out is to wear an amazing gown, you can select multiple outfit changes so don’t be afraid to take try something different.  Also, wear heels but bring sneakers and sandals to walk around when we are not taking pictures.   

2.       Hair and make-up.  Typically, when you hire your hairdresser and make-up artist for your wedding day they offer you a free (Test) session to give an idea of how you will look on your wedding day.  Schedule those on the same day of your engagement pictures.  It will give you a better idea of how your pictures will come out on your wedding day.  You will be glad you did.

3.       Time. Plan your engagement pictures with time, don’t wait for the last minute to book your engagement session.  Be aware of your wedding date so that you can take advantage of the seasons.  In the winter, we can get amazing fall themed pictures.  In the spring, we get beautiful flower blooms.   Also, if you live in the desert it is important to take into account the summer heat.   In the really hot summer months, we schedule 6-7am shoots to avoid the heat.   Also, we usually get amazing sunsets in the months of October and February.
